Cologne, 26th May 2009. The Televes Corporation has presented today an innovative modem which enables connection via broadband of the PC and all the audiovisual equipment in the home using coaxial or electrical cable. This revolutionary device has been launched at the ANGA Cable International Fair, the most important date on the European agenda in the sector, which will be held in Cologne (Germany) from 26th to 28th May. The new modem for Televes cable uses Intellon HomePlug technology and is designed to make the most of the entertainment possibilities offered by computer and domestic audiovisual equipment, by connecting them all together. In this way, users can use their television to manage all Internet services or to view photos or video files or listen to music stored on the home PC, for example. The device is connected to the PC via an Ethernet or a digital decoder via coaxial cable. From here, all the other audiovisual equipment in the home is connected as a network via coaxial cable or via the electrical cable using an adapter. This means that all the audiovisual contents can be managed and enjoyed from anywhere in the home with a coaxial cable connection point or simply an electric socket. This hybrid nature gives the device great versatility. "This new Televes product represents an important point of inflection for users, as it offers them a single device to access the Internet and all the audiovisual and entertainment content from anywhere in the home. By using hybrid technology, it guarantees connectivity and reliability", Manuel Martínez, Commercial Managing Director of the Spanish multinational, pointed out. The Televes Hybrid Adapter will be on display at the ANGA Cable Show, May 26th - 28th, 2008 at the Cologne Fair Grounds, Cologne, Germany. Evaluation/test units are scheduled to be available to our service provider customers by last quarter 2009.
