Is it possible to use a mobile antenna as a base station?
The main difference between base station antennas and mobile ones is the ground plane implementation.
The ground plane of a mobile antenna is configured by the metallic structure of the car where it is installed.
When this kind of antenna is used as a base station antenna, the ground plane has to be substituted with a similar element.
By doing so, their VSWR adjustment improves and the radiation pattern of the antenna will keep its shape.
