ON City Resort project, a benchmark in connectivity
- Televes has deployed a comprehensive infrastructure in the largest tourist complex in Huelva and Cádiz, in Spain, combining GPON, IPTV, WiFi and VoIP technologies with a hotel-oriented approach.
- A project that ensures efficiency, sustainability, and a premium digital experience in a resort designed to become a reference for international tourism.
Located on the shores of Doñana National Park, one of Europe’s most emblematic ecosystems situated in the southwest of Spain, ON City Resort Matalascañas stands as a large-scale tourist complex that redefines hotel offering proposals. With more than 560 rooms, 70,000 m² of facilities, a water park, food trucks, and an all-inclusive premium format, this resort aims not only to position itself as a benchmark for family and experiential tourism in Andalusia, but also as a key economic driver for the region.
In fact, it represents the largest hotel expansion in recent decades, generating more than 400 direct and indirect jobs, mobilizing an extensive network of local suppliers, and strengthening the alliance between private investment and institutional support to revitalize the Doñana coastline.
An ambitious project in which the technological infrastructure had to live up to strict requirements. It was not only about providing connectivity, but ensuring sustainability, scalability, and a top-tier digital experience, aligned with the expectations of increasingly demanding guests. A task in which Televes, a leading company in integrated solutions for building telecommunications infrastructures, played a key role.
Technology as the backbone of the hotel experience
ON City Resort presented the all-encompassing connectivity challenge of equipping a large complex with multiple differentiated areas (rooms, common areas, leisure spaces, internal services), with a robust, efficient infrastructure ready for the challenges of present and future services.
From the very beginning, the project required long-term collaborative work among all stakeholders: ownership, engineering, installers, distributors, and integrators, who relied on the experience, product range, and know-how of Televes, who proposed a technological and strategic approach. Its developments are specifically designed for implementation in building infrastructures, which has allowed the company to consolidate itself as a benchmark in the sector.
Ángel Álvarez, Global Business Director at Televés, highlights the collaboration in this project: “The implementation of advanced technologies at ON City Resort is an example of Televes’ commitment to leading the digital transformation of the Hospitality sector. This project reflects our positioning as a trusted technology partner, offering innovative solutions that not only optimize operational processes but also create added value, enhance the guest experience, and contribute to the competitiveness of tourist destinations”.
For this particular project, a comprehensive design integrated GPON, IPTV, WiFi, and VoIP technologies to maximize synergies and optimize resources. Each of these solutions provides a set of key advantages to achieve the project’s objectives.

An integrated technological infrastructure designed for the present and prepared for the future
The technological strategy of ON City Resort Matalascañas is based on a fully integrated network architecture, combining four key solutions developed by Televes: GPON, IPTV, WiFi, and VoIP. Each one meets the demanding operational and sustainability requirements of the complex, and together they form an infrastructure that not only guarantees connectivity but turns it into a strategic advantage.
Regarding the GPON network (Gigabit Passive Optical Network), this forms the physical foundation of the system. Thanks to its passive fiber optic structure, it significantly reduces energy consumption compared to traditional copper networks, aligning with the resort’s energy efficiency principles. In addition, by consolidating multiple services—data, voice, and video—into a single infrastructure, space usage is optimized, the use of polluting materials is minimized, and maintenance tasks are simplified. Its high resilience, long lifespan, and reliability even during peak demand guarantee a robust and continuous digital experience, essential for a hotel of this magnitude.
Building on this foundation, the Televes IPTV platform transforms traditional television into an interactive and management tool. Beyond in-room entertainment, it enables personalized content, promotions, on-demand services, and direct communication with guests, all managed centrally and with scalable operation. This solution thus becomes another channel to generate revenue, foster customer loyalty, and enhance brand perception.
In parallel, the WiFi solution was designed to provide high-capacity coverage throughout all areas of the resort, from rooms to outdoor leisure zones. The access points, optimized for high-density environments, ensure stable and consistent connectivity, eliminating dead zones and supporting multiple devices per user. This connectivity not only enhances the guest experience but also enables the operation and monitoring of all internal hotel systems —from IoT sensors to management applications— in real time and without interruptions.
Finally, the VoIP solution complements the connectivity ecosystem with an IP PBX designed to operate natively over GPON networks. Capable of integrating analog, RDSI, or GSM lines, it offers advanced features such as voicemail, IVR, or call groups, with no limit on extensions and no license fees. Its compact format and ease of rack installation allow for discreet yet powerful integration, facilitating both internal communication and customer service, with the flexibility required to adapt to the resort’s future needs.
Jesús León, CEO of ON Hotels Group, summarizes the result of the service integration: “From the very beginning, we understood that connectivity had to be on the same level as the rest of our facilities. Investing in an infrastructure provided by Televes has been key to ensuring a premium experience for our guests and optimizing the resort’s internal operations. Today, we have a solid, scalable network ready to evolve with us”.
The technological deployment carried out by Televes at ON City Resort Matalascañas represents a model of hotel connectivity aligned with the highest standards in the industry. By integrating GPON, IPTV, WiFi, and VoIP solutions specifically designed for tourism environments, the project has achieved not only the optimization of resources and operational efficiency but also the delivery of a digital experience befitting a resort of international prestige.
A true success story that demonstrates how innovation —applied from engineering to the last network endpoint— can transform infrastructure into a real and sustainable competitive advantage; creating a system that strengthens the hotel’s ability to offer agile and personalized service, both for guests and in internal coordination.
