Televes to present its 'technological revolution' TForce at ANGACOM

Televes will be in Cologne to participate in ANGACOM, the German trade fair for Broadband, Cable and Satellite sectors, a key strategic event in Europe. It will be held between 7 and 9 June, with more than 450 exhibitors from 40 countries and a congress with 26 technological panels, in which our technical director Justo Rodal will present the definition of an Intelligent Building as an intrical part of a Smart City.

Once inside Televes Stand D21, visitors will learn about the new manufacturing revolution: TForce, the technology developed by Televes to design, manufacture and assemble MMIC components. With this technology, available to very few manufacturers, the company gives a qualitative leap in electronic minitaturization and will develop a new generation of products with limits only set by the minds of the designers.

The first result of the implementation of this technological revolution is the DAT BOSS TFORCE antenna. The technological jump provided by TForce circuitry grants the largest dynamic range seen to date, and a 27% increase in coverage area, ensuring that the quality of the output signal is optimum no matter how difficult the conditions of reception are.

Surpassing the silicon era

MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits) overcome the limitations of silicon microchips and opens a new era in the design of electronic components, which are integrated circuits that operate in the microwave frequency. These types of circuits are based on semiconductor compounds, such as Gallium Arsenide (GaAs), which downsize dramatically, up to 1 - 10 mm2.

Making components with this technology has been an extraordinary challenge, not only from the development point of view, but also because of the high demands presented by an extremely delicate manufacturing process. The placement of MMIC components can only tolerate positional margins of less than 5 microns and deviations in soldering times of less than 100 milliseconds. It also requires control of ambient temperature and humidity parameters while mounting the components onto the printed circuit boards.

TForce means Televes enters a new dimension, where dependence on third party microchip manufacturers is voided, hence, limits on functionality and specifications are no longer driven by the availability of components in the market, rather by the creativity of the Televes microelectronics design team. Furthermore, TForce technology will enhance the diversification of Televes Corporation, which means developing leading products for very competitive and highly technological demanding sectors such as Aeronautics, Health, Energy and Automotive.

New spectrum analyzers

The other big announcement to be presented at ANGACOM by Televes is the worldwide presentation of the new concept of field spectrum analyzer. MosaiQ6 allows the configuration of six real time screens simultaneously. This development is fruit of the Televes commitment to field spectrum analyzers, having been the first to incorporate digital processing in a portable meter in 2008.

As far as TV distribution, Televes will complete the range of successful T.0X headends with the presentation of HEXA, compact transmodulators that can allocate up to six satellite transponders into six independent QAM channels. The company will also announce new references for NevoSwitch multiswitches for potential scenarios involving the transition from DBV-T to DVB-T2.

About Televes

Televes is a leading global company focusing on the design, development and manufacture of systems and products associated with telecommunications services for the home, and specialising in reception and distribution of television signals. Headquarters are located in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), where the company was founded in 1958. At present, Televes is the head of a Corporation formed by 21 subsidiaries (technological, industrial and commercial), near 700 employees and 75 invention patents.

Televes has ten international subsidiaries in Portugal, France, UK, Italy, Germany, USA, Poland, Russia, UAE and China, and distributes its products to more than one hundred countries on five continents through an extensive network of distributors. With almost 60 years of experience, Televes has launched more than 1,500 different products, an achievement only possible for a company with a real passion for manufacturing. The company produces at its own facilities to ensure the highest quality and control. To achieve this, it has been a pioneer in the implementation of automated robotized lines and has its own testing and quality control laboratories. Therefore, the brand’s products proudly display the "European Technology Made in Europe" stamp.Â
