What is a ONT/ONU?

The Optical Network Terminal (ONT) or Optical Network Unit (ONU) is the device in charge of delivering the services the user contracted from the operator. The terminal range conforms to installation and implemented services criteria.
ONT can be used in the network topologies known as FTTx: Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), Fiber-to-the-Room (FTTR), Fiber-to- the-Building (FTTB), Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTb), Fiber-to-the-Curb (FTTC), etc.
Multiple-play signals provisioned at the FibreData headend, such as High Speed Internet (HSI - High Speed Internet), VoIP, WiFi, IPTV and/or RF Overlay, etc., are available in their connectors.
