K21 compact headend DVBS2X - DVBC (QAM), 8 to 16 MUX

Compact headend that generates QAM multiplex from transparent transmodulation of services available on DVB-S/-S2-S2X transponders. A stand-alone solution with just an electrical plug (built-in PSU).

The headend has 4 satellite inputs that can be configured in:

Quattro mode for the four polarities of 1 satellite (VL/HL/ VH/ HH)
WideBand mode for the two polarities of 2 satellites (V/H)

In addition, it is possible to combine two K21 headends together to achieve a larger number of satellite transponders. Both devices will be connected in loop mode (cascade), and it can be possible to manage the configuration of the whole solution with one of the K21 units set in master mode.

The headend allows its configuration through a web interface, accessible via Ethernet or through a WiFi network (adapter ref. 216802 required). With the embedded interface, it is possible to perform a complete configuration in seconds by using preloaded programs, or by cloning configurations from other installations.

System status

Overview of the system configuration, with detailed information about inputs, CAM occupancy, output service programming and much more.

Input personalisation

Total control of the inputs from a single panel, with individually configurable multiple parameters and activation or deactivation of each input.

CAM management

Direct management of CAMs, with status information, decrypted services and visualisation of occupancy rates.

List of programmed services

Convenient and simple programming of the services at the output of each unit, with filtering functions (SID/PID) and edition of the order of services (LCN).

Configuration management

The interface allows saving and subsequent loading of configurations, facilitating cloning between installations.

Network configuration

Management of network connection parameters on each Ethernet port: IP address, mask, gateway... as well as DHCP activation.

Secure configuration

Protected access to the configuration edition under password, to prevent unauthorised manipulation.

Local configuration via Ethernet connection

Access to the web interface can be made via a straight Ethernet cable connection from a PC to the master unit. The ETH1 port on the headend is used for this purpose.

In the case of looped headends, the slave unit is connected to the master via an Ethernet cable. The connection is made from the ETH2 port on the master to the ETH1 port on the slave. This allows both devices to be controlled together.

After establishing the connection, the PC must be assigned an IP address in the same subnet as the headend. The embedded web interface can then be accessed via a web browser to carry out all the installation settings.

Wireless configuration via WLAN-network

Access to the web interface can be made not only via PC connection, but also wirelessly via smartphone or tablet. This can be done by connecting a WLAN adapter (Ref. 216802) to the USB port on the bottom of the headend.

Once the WLAN network has been set up, devices are connected automatically. The embedded web interface can be accessed directly from any web browser.

For installations with looped headends, the WLAN adapter must be connected to the master unit. The connection between the master and slave remains unchanged.

Remote configuration

The K21 headend can be easily integrated into a network with Internet access. This enables remote access and system monitoring at any time. To implement this, the master unit is connected via Ethernet to a switch or router which provides Internet gateway.

Once the network connection has been established, access to the web interface can be achieved from any location. The system can be monitored, configured and maintained completely remotely. Ideal for reducing service calls and for the efficient management of large or distributed installations.
